Synagogues

Kerhonkson Synagogue is one of a network of small synagogues founded in the early twentieth century throughout Sullivan and  Southwestern Ulster Counties.

Several have been added to the historic register to stand witness to a time when this area had many large, active Jewish communities.

Tifereth Yehudah V'Yisroel continues into its next 100 years.  It remains a vital center for the Jewish community as well as a window into Jewish life in a small rural town in the early 20th century.
